Happy Birthday Bilbo and Frodo, plus... Programs!
September 22nd. The birth of Bilbo Baggins, and his heir, Frodo Baggins. Two of the greatest characters in the history of literature. Say hi to Bombadil for me.
On to other things...
Well, I'm working on a Fix release of Ripple Chat Bot, because there's just too many bugs in the "final" version I released. I've added a few things, like Bnet FTP abilities, so it can download the newest copy of any IX86 CheckRevision DLLs right from the source. This should allow it to log in even after Battle.net changes stuff (and when most other bots are up shit creek). It also allows for Ad downloading (oh, joy...), which will now be an option. The ads come in .pcx (it's an image type, most image viewers/editors can look at it) or .smk (you'll need to get the Smacker Tools player) for all games except Warcraft 3, which uses .png (again, image type that most things can view) and .mng (I don't know what to view these with). Not important, though. Also added a reconnect window (useful), Last Seen time for offline friends (nice to have), Quit confirmation (great for those accidental X clicks), hide offline users (both friend and clan list)... Oh, and Warcraft III Clan stuff works now. I have to wait a few more days to test most of the features (there's a wait time built in to Bnet), but I'm confident I at least did SOME of this crap right. I also changed how the user Icons work (nothing noticably different except that where there used to be transparency, there's now black (trust me, it's for a damn good reason [stupid refreshing]). I also added Partings, which are the same as greetings, except for when someone leaves, not when someone enters. I also fixed as many bugs as I could find.
No-CDs... I've now completed four of these. Diablo I, Starcraft/Brood War, Warcraft II, Warcraft III/Frozen Throne. I think requiring a cd for games is a terrible idea unless it's because of the size of the data files, and even then it should be an option. Even if people share the CD, they can't play on Battle.net without a valid CD Key (Ya, I know I made a Key Generator, too, but the chance of finding a key that works on Bnet with that is minimal, and it'd probably be voided, muted, banned, or a billion other things). The current common Diablo 2 one works just fine, so I'm not gonna mess with that. Maybe I will later.
Lime Light... No work here. I'm slackin on rewriting how it plays music. When I get around to it, it'll play CD music, too.
My Website's been changing a bit. I've been adding new stuff, removing stupid stuff, etc... I just added Google Ads to it for Scope, who runs BNetWeb. I'll be replacing those with Google Ads for myself when I actually get a mail box. Such is life in heaven... no mail, no broadband...
Speaking of internet connections, my current ISP, Juno, just went to hell on me tonight. All day, I was getting disconnected every 15-20 minutes. Finally, at about 11:40 PM, it just wouldn't connect at all. Then at almost 1 AM it connected again like nothing had happened. I'm still confused. Also, our neighbor (neighbor being about 4 miles away) recently got a notice saying they could now get DSL. Lucky them. We still can't. So it looks like I'm still stuck with a 2 kb/s download speed on crappy Dial Up. Some day it won't take an hour to upload new versions of my programs. All I can say for now is that AT&T needs to get in shape.
Well, my good friend Ethan (who's like... the only person near my age who lives within 10 miles of me) wants me to start writing a sort of essay thing on my "World Domination" plans (I use domination for lack of a better word). I guess I'll start work on New World Revolution. For those of you that don't know, NWR is my little plan on how to fix the human race before we do any more damage to ourselves and our surroundings. A complete reformation of the human race. Removal of countries, governments, races, everything, with as little violence as possible. The basic outline is we take over the world step by step (I'll be writing this out in detail later), get as many neurologists and neuro-surgeons as we can to work on "reprogramming" the human brain to not feel certain things like rage, hatred, jealousy, bitterness, etc... things that cause violence, while still keeping all other emotions in perfect condition. After we find that, we start work on selective breeding so that the human race will be stronger, more resistant to disease, more intelligent, etc... This will eliminate many things that waste humanity's time. Think of all the time people spend finding cures for diseases that could be eliminated by perfect quarantine. Think of what people who do that kind of thing could do instead. More on this whole thing later, though...
Different topic now. Here's a list of wonderful songs I grouped together, like a CD compilation. It was going to be a CD for someone... but not anymore....
The songs can be found here.
Enjoy them, but if you keep them saved on your computer, you're probably breaking the law. Isn't that a bitch?
